In the 2nd Monday of every Octobers is Christopher Columbus day and there is no work and no school. It's a national holiday and people celebrate that Christopher Columbus discovered America. For this reason, in the US, Columbus means America.
However, there are different point of views from the people on the US about Christopher Columbus days. It’s a day commemorating two narratives of history with two different
ideas of how Columbus achieved the western development of the Americas. For Indigenous people of the Western Hemisphere, the landing of Columbus
in the new world has another meaning; one that welcomes protests every
year. They say sentences like: “To show to Latin Americans and other people, that we don’t all
celebrate Columbus, we don’t think he did good things. He brought a lot
of suffering to the indigenous here,” and “People here say he discovered America, what they did was conquer the Americas,"
But in the other hand, there's people against it. They say that Columbus is part of our history.

WRITING 3: OPINION ESSAY
MOVIES AND TELEVISION INFLUENCE PEOPLE'S BEHAVIOR
Nowadays, television is an important technological set which influences society in general.
Television always broadcasts movies and programs and it is easy that everyone watches TV at some moment during their day. From my point of views, it is true that television influence people's behavior.
I think that society believe that people who work on the TV world are more important than people who don't. For this reason, we tend to copy their behavior in order to improve our personality, but not always is it like this. For example, there are studies which show that people who see violence programs tend to be more agressive in their life than people who never watch these programs. They say more insults and can get to be violent.
However, there are also very interesting programs which help people to discover and learn a lot of things and show the best of us. For example solidary programs, documentaries...
In conclusion, I believe that TV is a good invention if people know how to use it correctly because television can help people become better persons. But if you don't know how to use it correctly, you can change your behavior and become a bad person.
